| Children are a big part of our practice.
When a child is about 2 years old, we encourage a parent to bring the
child along to their regularly scheduled cleaning visit. That gives
the child a chance to see us working with the parent, and then we spend
a few minutes in an introductory visit with the child. That way, when
we schedule the actual initial visit with the child, the "ice has been
broken". Sometimes, we must defer the "fun" visit, especially when a problem demands a more immediate attention. In that case, we spend a few minutes preparing the child in a very gentle, but direct form for what is to take place for that visit. Let's face it nobody likes surprises, especially a child. They respond well when prepared by us. |
